The Biden-Harris Administration’s budget for Fiscal Year 2025 earmarks significant funding for NASA, aiming to bolster the United States’ leadership in space exploration and climate science. This investment is designed to support the Artemis II mission, which aims to send astronauts around the Moon for the first time in over 50 years, alongside advancing our understanding of Earth’s changing climate. The budget also focuses on growing commercial markets in space and inspiring the next generation of STEM professionals.

Key Investments and Innovations

 

With a proposed $7.8 billion for the Artemis campaign, NASA plans to continue its lunar exploration efforts, including sending the first woman and person of color to the Moon. An additional $2.4 billion is dedicated to enhancing climate science, with $1.2 billion aimed at advancing U.S. space industry technology. Furthermore, $966 million will support the development of greener commercial airliners, showcasing NASA’s commitment to sustainable innovation.
